Campaign: Sands Confidential

On March 22, Sands Cares, the company’s global corporate giving program, partnered with the United Way of Southern Nevada to sponsor Nevada’s Big Give. Since 2011, thousands of Nevadans have participated in the 24-hour online crowdfunding event that was created to rally together community support for Nevada’s charitable causes. In total, $631,153 was raised by 4,360 individual donors that benefitted 235 nonprofits.

Sands Cares has been a sponsor for three years, bringing awareness to join in on this campaign across the community. Additionally, Sands Cares has been a continuous donor at the $10,000 level and was the first Integrated Resort to do so. This year, as part of our mission to better the communities where we operate, Sands Cares challenged The Venetian and The Palazzo Team Members to donate to individual causes most important to them. Team Members raised $4,168 for Nevada charities and schools. Sands Cares will be matching that amount and donating it to the Assistance League of Las Vegas, who will provide new school clothing and supplies to area children through their program Operation School Bell.

“The Nevada Big Give is a grassroots initiative that engages the community to give,” Stephanie Stanton, director of Sands Cares at The Venetian and The Palazzo, said. “Sands Cares supports because it is a simple way for Team Members to donate to causes most important to them while also exposing them to new organizations they may not have known about.”
