#LocalMotive: The CSX Story Told By People

In 2015, CSX launched #LocalMotive, an ongoing digital conversation to highlight examples of CSX’s presence in communities through service and volunteerism, job creation, and moving essential goods – in order to tell a more complete story about CSX’s footprint.

The conversation is hosted on a digital hub that showcases shared stories about CSX. The hub aggregates content from many different social media networks, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  Content appears when people across the CSX network post using the hashtag #LocalMotive. Participants in the #LocalMotive conversation to date have included employees, neighbors, non-profit members, and industry followers.

#LocalMotive also offers a platform to increase engagement between CSX’s national and non-profit partners, community members and CSX’s own employees – showing that just as the CSX Core Value states, “People Make the Difference.”

 “Our people are at the heart of everything we do,” said John Claybrooks, director of brand, digital media, and marketing, CSX. “No one can tell the CSX story better than them and the #LocalMotive community is bringing that notion to life.”
