MGM Resorts International achieved a 47 percent diversion rate in 2014 by recycling more than 56,000 tons, which is equal to the weight of 3,700 yellow school buses. A comprehensive waste management program is in place across all properties that includes on-site sorting of waste at many hotels. The system is designed to divert a wide variety of materials while seeking responsible, innovative solutions for handling non-recyclable items. Commodities such as paper, food, construction material, glass, oil, metal, plastics are recycled daily, along with unique materials such as cork, batteries, carpet and electronics. Employees have been instrumental in driving the success of MGM Resorts’ waste management programs throughout our hotels and casinos.
