Campaign: Action Team

November 11, 2015 /3BL Media/ - WHO: Major Leaguers Matt Barnes, Chris Iannetta and Ryan O’Rourke; More than 50 high school students from Maine and Massachusetts involved in the Action Team national youth volunteer program; Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity

WHAT: In the spirit of Veterans Day, the Players and Action Team Captains from New England will convene in New Hampshire to help Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity with a house-build for a veteran and his family. The event and location were selected to provide Action Team Captains from different high schools and locations and Major Leaguers from the New England area with an opportunity to come together for a common cause – lend a hand to a former member of our armed forces.

The Action Team national youth volunteer program was created and is administered by the Major League Baseball Players Trust and Volunteers of America. Through the Action Team, Major Leaguers and high school students are working together to train and inspire the next generation of volunteers.

Since the Action Team program launched in 2003, more than 82,000 high school students have volunteered to help over 250,000 people in need.

There are presently more than 100 high schools from 30 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, participating in the Action Team program. For more information, please visit www.ActionTeam.org
