DETROIT, May 15, 2015 /3BL Media/ - In partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free school supplies to students in need, the Mike Morse Law Firm is lending its support to local students and Detroit public schools by providing funding for hundreds of essential classroom materials, including backpacks, crayons, markers, pens, pencils and notebooks. The funding was generated through participation in CBS EcoMedia’s EducationAd program.

Today, a team from the Mike Morse Law Firm was joined by Principal Pamela Askew as they hand-delivered backpacks filled with essential school supplies to all 375 students at Wayne Elementary School, a Detroit public school.

“We’ve worked with Detroit public schools before and know the great work they do, as well as the challenges they face. We’re thrilled to be able to partner with such an excellent organization, the Kids In Need Foundation, to get these much-needed school supplies to so many students,” said Mike Morse of the Mike Morse Law Firm. “As the father to three young daughters, I know how important it is for kids to be well-prepared for a great school year. Backpacks loaded with supplies will make a big difference for these kids.”

“Nothing is more important to us than to break down the barrier of not having school supplies for kids who need them. EcoMedia and the Mike Morse Law Firm are helping us do this,” said Dave Smith, Executive Director of the Kids In Need Foundation. “With this support, students can function in their classrooms and get their work done. Learning opportunities are much more meaningful when students do not have to worry about having pencils, paper, crayons, glue, and all the other supplies kids use every day to express themselves and respond to classroom challenges. Partners such as EcoMedia and the Mike Morse Law Firm make it possible for the Kids In Need Foundation to support the learning process.”

“The Mike Morse Law Firm’s support through our EducationAd program will help students at Wayne Elementary School finish the school year with the tools they need to learn,” said Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder of CBS EcoMedia. “We also hope that today’s distribution sends the Wayne Elementary students into the summer months excited and prepared for the next school year.”

The Kids In Need Foundation has distributed more than $668 million in school supplies since its founding, directly benefiting 4.2 million students and more than 120,000 teachers annually, and has awarded $1.6 million in grants to teachers.  Kids In Need has earned the Gold GuideStar Exchange Seal, demonstrating its commitment to transparency, and has been given a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, indicating that it operates in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms most other charities in America.  For more information, visit www.kinf.org.
