Miners to the Core – AGM 2015

Above Ground

Last week, Goldcorp held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Toronto, Ontario at the Sheraton Centre Toronto. The event was well attended by shareholders, employees, and community members who heard from Goldcorp’s Chairman Ian Telfer and President & CEO Chuck Jeannes on the company’s accomplishments and plans going forward.

In the weeks leading up to the AGM, a proxy advisory firm urged shareholders to vote against the proposed non-binding advisory resolution to accept the Company’s approach to executive compensation. Since 2012, we have provided shareholders with a Say-On-Pay vote to help us engage constructively, obtain meaningful feedback and ensure accountability for executive compensation.

We are pleased to report an overwhelming majority of our shareholders voted in favor of the company’s Say-On-Pay resolution, with 89.2% in favor. We thank our shareholders for supporting the company in our efforts to align executive compensation fairly with company performance. We remain committed to listening to, respecting and engaging in constructive and transparent dialogue with all of our stakeholders.

We are miners. It’s who we are to the core. And it’s what we are proud to do.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video must provide even more stories and emotions. So for this year’s AGM, we produced a video to express some of the ways we’re bringing our vision of Together, Creating Sustainable Value to life. The video highlights our two new mines – Éléonore in Quebec, Canada, and Cerro Negro in Santa Cruz, Argentina; the opening of the Red Lake Health Clinic which we supported with a $5 million donation; the signing of our sixth First Nations agreement in Canada; and our commitment to water stewardship at the Marlin mine in Guatemala.

“This was a big year for Goldcorp because after many years of planning, work and investment we were able to open up two brand new gold mines,” said Chuck Jeannes, Goldcorp President & CEO. “These are big important mines that will help sustain the future of Goldcorp for many years.”

We hope you enjoy watching these stories as much as we enjoy sharing them.
