Advertising’s Mad Woman Jacki Kelley, 48, has graced the executive offices of media outlets likeUSA Today, Yahoo and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Last September, she made the jump from IPG Mediabrands, where she had helped bring on a major account with Microsoft, to the role of chief operating officer at Bloomberg Media, a subsidiary of $9 billion Bloomberg LP.

Since arriving, Ms. Kelley has been tasked with broadening the appeal of Bloomberg outlets such as Businessweek and Bloomberg TV—a mission set forth by new CEO Justin Smith, who was hired in 2013. Earlier this year, Ms. Kelley helped the company turn Bloomberg.com into a design-forward, centralized media site that quickly saw increased traffic, even though redesigns often have the opposite effect.

Correction: Bloomberg Media is a subsidiary of $9 billion Bloomberg LP. Bloomberg Media did not generate $9 billion in revenue last year. That fact was misstated in an earlier version of this article originally published online June 28, 2015.
