LAS CRUCES, N.M. and GAITHERSBURG, Md., February 1, 2018 /3BL Media/ - The quality of life for the New Mexico State University (NMSU) campus community just got better. NMSU Auxiliary Services and Sodexo, our food services and facilities management service provider, announced a new initiative today that will offer hospitality services for students, faculty and staff, including an onsite concierge team, a 24-hour call center, enhanced student living and meeting and conference planning assistance.

“We are always looking for ways to enhance NMSU’s campus experience,” said Garrey Carruthers, NMSU Chancellor. “As part of our relationship with Sodexo, we are able to deliver a suite of solutions that will improve onsite services and make life easier for our community and our guests.”

The new on-campus offerings, available starting this Spring, will include:

  • Onsite Concierge Services – Located in Corbett Center Student Union, the concierge team will be prepared to assist with travel plans, order gifts or specialty items, make doctor and auto repair appointments and more for anyone on campus. The team will be available during normal business hours and virtually after hours.
  • Enhanced Student Living – From cooking demos and intimate concerts to volunteering, students living in University residences will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of planned activities, events, programs and more.
  • Meeting and Conference Planning – Professionally trained by the award-wining and renowned guest services division at Ritz-Carlton, the improved conference services team will be ready to cater to your every need from booking a quiet place to study to planning meetings, conferences, weddings, and events from beginning to end.
  • 24-Hour Call Center – The answer to questions about campus will be just a phone call away. The new call center will be open any day or time of the week to provide guidance, answer questions and route calls to the appropriate service or department.

“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with NMSU to deliver hotel-like experiences on campus,” said David Culberson, district manager, Sodexo. “As a member of the NMSU community, we want to alleviate stress and undue pressure by providing support with every day needs.”

NMSU and Sodexo have a longstanding relationship that spans more than six years. As a result, NMSU and Sodexo have successfully launched Aggies Grill, Corbett Center Student Union Food Court, College Canteen, Subway, Taos restaurant and Zuhl Fuel coffee shop and two convenient stores -- Aggie Express and Corbett Corner. Sodexo also manages the athletic facilities concessions, campus catering and pizza delivery services. Additionally, our alliance has yielded opportunities to support the local community, including donations to local soup kitchens and Aggie Cupboard to support students in need.
