A New Way to Support Cancer Education in Schools

At Hotels for Hope, we are honored to not only call LIVESTRONG a nonprofit partner…but also our friends.

LIVESTRONG provides crucial support and services for those affected by cancer. This year, Hotels for Hope is excited to team up in an effort to fundraise for the LIVESTRONG at School program.

Research has shown that 25 percent of cancer survivors in the United States have school-aged children. Cancer is difficult enough to understand as an adult. But imagine being a child and learning that your parent, family member, friend or teacher was diagnosed with cancer.

It’s crucial that teachers are able to offer cancer education and support to their students. The LIVESTRONG at School program provides teachers with free curriculum to learn how to talk to their students about cancer in an age appropriate way.

So how will our partnership work? It’s simple.

Together we’ve created a project through Hotels for Hope’s niche crowdsourcing platform –RoomFunding™. It’s like other crowdfunding platforms, with the exception that donors do not make monetary donations instead they commit their hotel room nights. For every room night booked, Hotels for Hope donates $2 to help fund cancer education in schools.

We need 5,000 room nights to fully fund the LIVESTRONG at School program. Help us reach this goal!

Here are two ways to make your room nights matter:

  1. Book room nights for your next business trip or a personal stay. Every room night matters. Book your stay here: bit.ly/LIVESTRONGhotels.
  2. Commit your next meeting or event. If your company hosts meetings or conferences, you could support LIVESTRONG in a bigger way. Whether you are organizing a conference, meeting, board retreat, sporting event, festival or large consumer event…we’ve got your back. Hotels for Hope’s services and technology will make planning these events much easier. Get started here: bit.ly/bookwithH4H.
