Newsweek Ranks Ecolab Among World's Greenest Companies

Ranked 6th on Global 500 list; 4th on U.S. 500 list

Ecolab’s commitment to sustainable business practices was again recognized by Newsweek and Corporate Knights, who ranked it as one of the World’s Greenest Companies.  

Newsweek evaluated more than 800 of the largest publicly-traded companies by market capitalization, globally and in the U.S. Globally, Ecolab ranked sixth out of the 500 companies that made the list and first in the materials industry. Ecolab scored a “greenness percentage” of 82.6 percent, compared to Vivendi, which was atop the global list with a score of 85.3 percent. Ecolab ranked fourth on the U.S. 500 companies list and second in the materials industry.

Newsweek and Corporate Knights Capital measured company performance in eight indicative areas, sourcing data from Bloomberg’s Professional Service and the Carbon Disclosure Project. Additionally, Corporate Knights Capital collected information from corporate reports and used third-party RepRisk data to consider reputation status.
