WASHINGTON, April 3, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Tom Hart, US Executive Director, ONE Campaign, Katie Taylor, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Bureau for Global Health, USAID, and Leigh Verbois, Director, Office of International Programs, U.S. Food and Drug Administration will take on the difficult question: How can cross-sector partnerships afford healthier lives for more of the world’s population?  Tune in on pyxeraglobal.org on April 7 from 2 – 5, EST  for this live-streamed conversation, Development at the Crossroads – Global Health, at the Public Private Partnership Forum, moderated by Fortune Magazine’s Nina Easton.

While many challenges confront the individuals and organizations committed to building a better world, global health is one of the most cross-cutting. From sanitation, to cookstoves, nutrition to vaccines, maternal health to communicable diseases, the absence of basic access and infrastructure undermines health and stifles growth in many communities.

A dynamic array of organizations are seeking to reduce non-communicable disease, provide affordable vaccines, and distribute malaria nets, clean cookstoves, and water pumps to those communities that need them most. A collective effort to achieve the Millennium Development Goals has reduced child mortality, reinforced maternal health, and dramatically reduced the global incidence of HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis, but a great deal more remains to be done to assure the health of the world’s people.

Hosted by PYXERA Global, the Public Private Partnership Forum is a one-of-a-kind event that will actively engage the public, private, and social sectors in dialogue like never before. Broadcast live from the Newseum in Washington, D.C. on April 7 from 2 to 5 pm, EST, the Forum will examine how cross-sector interests converge to achieve shared value. Sponsored by The Dow Chemical Company and part of the Catalyzing Growth in Emerging Markets Conference, the Forum will be live-streamed from pyxeraglobal.org.
