Over the last 15 years, life has changed dramatically. Today, complex devices like smart phones and tablets enable individuals to contact friends, shop, share videos and pay bills online. Air-conditioned, high-speed elevators move people to the top of high rises and notify them when they’ve reached the right floor. Cars help drivers avoid collisions when changing lanes, and even park themselves.

The creation of the next generation of affordable “smart” products and services requires both new designs and new ways of designing.
