MORRISTOWN, Tenn., Oct. 6, 2015 /3BL Media/ – CITGO Marketer Rogers Petroleum, Inc. recently hosted its 14th Annual United Way Kevin Dalton Memorial Golf Tournament, raising more than $27,000 for the United Way of Hamblen County and exceeding last year’s total.

"Being that one of Rogers Petroleum’s corporate values is stewardship, we take great pride in contributing to those who live and work in the local community,” said Mike Jellicorse, Vice President of Risk Management at Rogers Petroleum.  “This tournament comprises approximately 30 percent of Rogers’ overall giving to United Way and the event itself would not be successful without the generosity of our various sponsors and supporters, many of whom played in the tournament.”

The tournament events included a sponsored luncheon and a variety of giveaways and raffles.  Additional awards were given away to tournament participants in the areas of low gross round, longest drive and closest to the pin.

"We are so grateful to have the support of Rogers Petroleum and their customers for our local United Way chapter," said Gary Matthews, Executive Director at the United Way of Hamblen County. "Every dollar raised in this tournament is going to one of our organization’s 24 local agencies supporting youth programs, crisis and shelter needs, care for senior citizens and more.”

Rogers Petroleum was first established in 1980 by Don Rogers. Since then, Rogers Petroleum has grown into a leading petroleum wholesale distributor within the Southeastern market. Rogers Petroleum primarily distributes petroleum-related products including gasoline and diesel fuels.

From 1955-2014, the United Way of Hamblen County has raised funds to improve the quality of life for thousands of people in the Lakeway Area. The local community has raised more than 45 million dollars over the course of 60 years to support 200 programs through the 24 member agencies of the United Way of Hamblen County.
