Sanford Health, WebMD and Discovery Education Launch fit 4 the classroom Initiative

Today, Sanford Health, WebMD and Discovery Educationannounced the launch of fit 4 the classroom, a new initiative to combat childhood obesity and promote children’s health. Through the use of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, the unique program helps students to learn about how to make positive, healthy lifestyle choices.

With childhood obesity more than tripling in the last 30 years, fit 4 the classroom emphasizes four pillars – mood, move, food and recharge –  to promote a more holistic approach to children’s overall health and well-being. fit 4 the classroom provides educators with interactive and cross-curricular lesson plans in order to teach the interconnectedness of nutrition, exercise, sleep and emotional well-being.
