Scotiabank Donates $50,000 to the Wildfire Relief Efforts in B.C.

Donations in Support of the Canadian Red Cross can be made at any Scotiabank Branch in Canada.

TORONTO, July 19, 2017 /3BL Media/- Scotiabank is donating $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help with the wildfire relief efforts in B.C.

"Scotiabank's thoughts are with the people of the communities that have been affected by the wildfires in B.C.," said Winnie Leong, Senior Vice President BC & Yukon Region, at Scotiabank. "Scotiabank is committed to helping our customers and employees impacted by the wildfires. We recognize the personal circumstances of our individual customers and will work with them during these challenging times to help accommodate their needs."

Donations to the relief efforts can be made at any Scotiabank branch in Canada from July 13 – August 13. Funds will support the Canadian Red Cross. Please indicate that your donation is for the British Columbia Fires Appeal.

The ongoing wildfires have resulted in the province declaring a state of emergency, with thousands of residents having to evacuate their homes. We thank the firefighters, first responders and volunteers for their efforts to keep everyone safe.
