In 2016, TD Bank Group collaborated with Bullfrog Power on a first-of-its kind renewable energy initiative to address 100% of its energy footprint for TD branches in Vancouver, as well as a portion of its business-related travel in the city.

TD accessed the full suite of Bullfrog Power’s green energy solutions, using its green electricity, green natural gas and green fuel to address the full scope of its energy footprint in Vancouver. The collaboration will help support Vancouver's Greenest City Action Plan in achieving a long-term sustainability goal by 2050 through numerous measures, such as increasing its investment in clean energy, green infrastructure and green transportation. Short-term targets include doubling the number of companies that are actively engaged in greening their operation by 2020, as well as reducing community-based greenhouse gas emissions by 33% from 2007 levels.

The collaboration between TD and Bullfrog Power will help to achieve some of these goals, and provide a necessary model for how businesses can address 100 per cent of their energy footprint in support of a low-carbon economy.

Since 2006, TD has invested $83 million in energy and eco-efficiency upgrades for TD's corporate and retail facilities. In 2016, TD became the first Canadian company to join RE100, committing to 100% renewable electricity, which it met this year.
