TD Bank "Rooted in NYC" Program Honors Urban Environmentalists in New York City

May 4, 2015 6:50 PM ET

May 4, 2015/ 3BL Media/ - TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®, today announced the launch of "TD Forests: Rooted In NYC," a program that spotlights New Yorkers who are improving their urban environment and their communities.

At events throughout New York City, "Rooted In NYC" will give New Yorkers the opportunity to share stories about what a greener NYC means to them. These stories will be featured on TDForestsNYC.com and excerpted in an upcoming multimedia presentation celebrating MillionTreesNYC, a TD Bank-sponsored program run by NYC Parks and New York Restoration Project (NYRP), which aspires to plant one million trees across New York City.

Filming on location across the five boroughs in the TD Mobile Forest studio –  a living forest on wheels complete with native plantings – visitors will be invited to take photos and share their stories, and will receive environmentally-themed giveaways. The public is also encouraged to share videos through their personal social media (#RootedInNYC).

"TD Bank is committed to supporting urban reforestation and the creation of green spaces," said Chris Giamo, Regional President, Metro New York. "Through Rooted In NYC, we look forward to celebrating the efforts of New Yorkers who share our commitment to environmental protection and community improvement."

"Rooted In NYC" is part of the TD Forests initiative, which preserves and supports urban green spaces and critical forest habitats across North America.
