Tetra Tech Participates in Lockheed Martin STEM Careers Event

On October, 22, 2015, Tetra Tech volunteers from our Pasadena, California, office participated in Lockheed Martin’s second annual STEM Careers Day at Jefferson Elementary in Riverside, California. This event highlighting science, technology, engineering, and math came about as a follow-on to Lockheed Martin’s Space Day. Volunteers aimed to inspire and educate approximately 300 third through sixth grade students about science careers.

Tetra Tech volunteers taught children about water use, the water life cycle, cleaning up dirty water, and watersheds. Other activities included flight stability demonstrations and blowing up balloons with CO2. Children were able to participate in nine separate activities throughout the day.

In addition, Tetra Tech provided our Access to Clean Water books to all fifth grade students. This book includes information about the water cycle and presents current and future challenges in the water sector around the world. It also encourages children to think about different ways of conserving water and decreasing their water consumption.

We are honored to partner with Lockheed Martin to encourage and inspire students to learn more about science and future science careers.
