Time Warner Cable’s Week of Service Strengthens Northeast Ohio Communities

Throughout our history, Time Warner Cable has built a framework for philanthropic giving, community partnerships and employee volunteerism - all focused on strengthening the communities where we live and operate. A recent community service initiative called Together We Can is just one more example that demonstrates how customer service and service to our communities go hand in hand at Time Warner Cable.

During the week of September 26 – October 4, Time Warner Cable celebrated its first Together We Can Week of Service in our Midwest North region.  Together We Can is a week-long community service initiative created to further our vision to create and foster deeper partnerships between our Time Warner Cable employees and the communities they live in and serve.

“Customer service and service to our communities are priorities at Time Warner Cable, so Together We Can Week of Service was a natural extension of the values of our employees, and company,” Time Warner Cable Area Vice President of Operations John Higgins said. 

In just nine days, 443 TWC employee volunteers at more than 44 offices harnessed their commitment for giving back and making a difference to complete more than 25 volunteer projects logging more than 900 volunteer across the company's Midwest North footprint. The projects, which addressed societal needs, focused on engaging team members and delivering on Time Warner Cable’s commitment to strengthening communities, celebrating diversity and sustainable living.

“Giving back to our community and reaching out to those in need is something that Time Warner Cable takes great pride in and I personally take great pride in,” said Ed Tucker, CMT Technician.

Throughout the week, volunteers shared their passion through service with a network of partners including Rebuilding Together, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Victory Gallop, American Red Cross, Operation Giveback, Autism Speaks and the Akron Marathon. From Cleveland to Mansfield, events ranged from rebuilding the home of a disabled firefighter to creating comfort kits for persons who have been displaced by natural disasters to packaging food for food insecure families. 

There are more than 2,500 Northeast Ohio TWC employees who work hard every day to deliver essential communication, information and entertainment services.  These dedicated professionals also live in the area, and are committed to improving the quality of live in the Buckeye State while living the Time Warner Cable value of community.
