Nearly 8,000 Aramark employees touched the lives of half a million individuals and families in 15 countries during Aramark Building Community Day (ABC Day) in September. Associates participated in more than 300 projects that inspired families to lead healthier lives and helped youth and adults gain job skills.

“For us, our mission of enriching and nourishing lives begins with our connection to our communities,” said Eric J. Foss, Aramark Chairman, President and CEO. “On Aramark Building Community Day, our associates come together at locations around the world as a powerful demonstration of our year-round passion for service.”

To help children and families get started on a path to healthy living, Aramark chefs and other experts hosted dozens of healthy cooking demonstrations on how to prepare simple, nutritious meals. Employees also assembled thousands of nutritious meals kits and Healthy For Life® Snack Packs – more than 8,500 for families in need.

Aramark teams also helped ensure adults and youth have critical skills to succeed in the workplace. Volunteers held resume coaching workshops, taught young people how to “dress for success,” and offered tips for a successful job search.

In addition, employees donated thousands of essential items including healthy food, clothing, books, work and school supplies and more.

ABC Day is part of Aramark Building Community, the company’s global volunteer and philanthropic program. Since 2008, Aramark has invested over $9 million in expertise, financial and in-kind resources to strengthen communities. More than 30,000 employees have dedicated their skills through hundreds of volunteer projects impacting millions of people.
