Long committed to making products out of the best, most responsible materials, outdoor lifestyle brand Timberland is raising the bar to reduce the environmental impact of all of its products – across footwear, apparel and accessories, by implementing new environmental product standards and setting robust five-year goals to achieve by 2020. Whether it’s a beautifully crafted pair of boots or a leather jacket, Timberland knows consumers want to look good and feel good about what they’re wearing. Building on the legacy of its Earthkeepers® collection, Timberland is increasing its use of eco-conscious materials by setting environmental targets for every product beginning with the spring and summer 2016 collections, available in stores and online now. These 2020 targets include:

  • 100% of footwear will include at least one material containing recycled, organic or renewable (ROR) content
  • 100% of leather will be sourced from Leather Working Group silver- or gold-rated tanneries
  • 100% of cotton will come from organic, US-origin or Better Cotton Initiative-certified sources
  • 100% of footwear and apparel will be PVC-free
  • The use of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in footwear will be reduced to 42 grams per pair, on average
  • 100% of Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment used in products will be non-PFC
