As the Yum! family celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8th, we are happy to put the spotlight on initiatives throughout our business that focus on equality for women, advance their personal and professional development and celebrate their achievements.

Investing in talent and building people capability is an integral part of the Yum! culture; we are intentional about development of internal talent. Taking this intent forward, Yum! India recently launched a leadership development program in February called Diamond in the Making. There are 27 women participating in the first class.

“The purpose of Diamond in the Making program is to enable building a truly diverse workforce and leadership bench at Yum! India,” said Gaurav Tewari, Chief Development Officer (CDO) & GM Area Countries. “Having interacted with the program attendees, I am hugely inspired by the amazingly talented individuals in this group. This program provides a great platform to develop each one of our ‘Diamonds’ and help them realize their fullest leadership potential.”

Just as a rock goes through different stages of evolution to become a diamond, similarly an individual goes through stages of progression to become a well-rounded leader. TheDiamond in the Making program is designed to help provide the polish and unleash that potential.

Diamond in the Making program will enable building a strong pipeline of women leaders at Yum! India. I am personally looking forward to see each participant emerge as a well-rounded leader. In my recent interaction with the participants, I loved their positive energy, passion and commitment!,” said Niren Chaudhary, President, Yum! India.
