Coca-Cola Enterprises has made a 41-point improvement on Corporate Responsibility magazines’ 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for 2011, moving from Number 90 last year to Number 49. Launched in 2000, the List is based on 324 data points of publicly available information in seven categories: environmental, climate change, philanthropy, human rights and employee relations, governance, and financial performance.
The South by Southwest conference will present a panel on social giving this Sunday, in Austin, Texas. “The Future of Philanthropy: Social Giving” will examine the rapid rise of online giving, which is growing at a rate of 40 percent annually. Driving this activity are innovative tech startup companies that are changing the nature of philanthropy. Participants will include representatives of Help Attack!, Piryx Inc., and MiniDonations.com.
