CAMPAIGN: The CSR Minute

CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Wednesday, January 20th:

Xerox has announced progress toward the creation of erasable paper, paper that can be used over and over again. A project of scientists at the Xerox Research Centre of Canada and the Palo Alto Research Center, the paper works by using compounds that disappear over 24 hours, thereby “clearing” the paper. Erasable paper would make a great contribution to reducing paper usage and waste, and to the environmental problems caused by the use of trees for wood pulp to make paper.

Canyon-Johnson Urban Funds has made a loan of $28 million dollars to renovate Brea Plaza, a shopping plaza in Brea, California built in 1976. Improving the shopping center has been a major priority for the City of Brea’s revitalization efforts. The Canyon-Johnson Urban Funds are the country’s largest private real estate funds focused on the development of urban properties in underserved neighborhoods. Canyon-Johnson’s investment mission is based on the triple bottom line, and aims for superior financial results while fostering opportunities in urban communities and embracing environmental responsibility.
