Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, October 8th:

The University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business has announced an inaugural team of Senior Fellows for its Society and Business Lab. Drawn from the fields of social venture development and investing, technology for change, and corporate social responsibility, the six Fellows will support the SBL’s existing program for aspiring social entrepreneurs. Senior Fellows will participate in the “Lunch and Learn” visiting speaking series and the Center’s Scholars Mentoring program. In 2011, the SBL will graduate its first class of specialized MBA fellows dedicated to social change.

Bahrain’s Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard has won the Lloyd’s List 2010 Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. The company won the top global prize for its initiatives for workers, the community, and the environment. The judging panel highlighted the ASRY sludge treatment plant, which produces 2,000 tons of recycled material now used for compost; the company’s substantial contributions to community charities; and its health and education programs for its work force.
