As represented in numerous previous posts, our sustainability consulting practice spends a considerable amount of time discussing the successes of major sustainable supply chain innovators, like IBM.  We review the evolving frameworks, complex strategies, and publicized accomplishments of the major corporations.  But what about their suppliers; what are they doing to support the headlines the companies like IBM are making?

A recent Green Biz article, Office Depot's Three-Pronged Strategy for Corporate Sustainability, highlights one such company’s contribution to the overall sustainable supply chain success with its largest customer, IBM.  Rather than focusing on ‘saving the planet’, Office Depot strives to capture the business benefits of sustainability.
