(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) New York - 20 July 2011 - The third edition of the Global Compact International Yearbook, which spotlights corporate sustainability through entrepreneurial commitments and case studies by corporate participants, has just been published. The publication was developed and produced by Macondo Media Group with support from the Global Compact Office.

Featuring a foreword by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the Yearbook includes 44 best practice examples that aim to foster and create incentives for other companies, and illustrate how to implement the Global Compact’s Ten Principles in daily business and projects. The Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability Leadership – a new model of leadership within the Global Compact – is also showcased to inspire advanced performers to reach the next level of sustainability performance.

Additional topics include guidelines for consumer standards and labels, analysis of the new ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard and an overview surrounding the historic changes in the Arab world. Essays are authored by international experts and thought leaders, including Lord Michael Hastings, NGO activist Sasha Courville and the former Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Sergei A. Ordzhonikidze.

The Global Compact International Yearbook is a non-commercial project. Proceeds from the sale of the publication benefit the Foundation for the Global Compact.
