(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) June 13, 2011 - SAP cordially invites you to join a discussion on how cities and companies can work together to operate in the new energy-constrained economy. It’s about new ways of managing energy in the future; use of alternative forms of energy (renewables); the future of EVs (battery storage, etc.); the role technology plays in determining and lowering energy usage; what cities and companies are doing to lower their energy consumption; the impact on local businesses, both commercial and manufacturing; etc.

Speakers include:

  • Steve Corneli, Senior Vice President for Sustainability, Strategy and Policy, NRG Energy

  • Bruce Katz, Vice President and Director of the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program, Brookings Institution

  • Scott Bolick, Vice President, Sustainability Solution Management, SAP

The panelists will discuss policy frameworks, current examples and future possibilities, including:
  • What are cities doing to become more sustainable?

  • What programs and initiatives do cities, municipalities and corporations have in place to reduce energy usage, while remaining competitive?

  • What role does technology play in reducing energy use?

  • What is the impact on local businesses, both commercial and manufacturing?

  • What role do utilities play in creating a more energy-efficient and competitive environment?

There will be ample time for Q&A. Lunch will be served.
