Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) are a potent greenhouse gas used in refrigeration, air conditioning and insulation. HFCs are 10,000 times more potent than carbon dioxide, which is the most common greenhouse gas. Under the United Nation’s Montreal Protocol, there is an increasing level of support to phase out HFCs globally.
