Timberland Helps Reclaim the Horqin Desert
Over time, a region of lush grasslands in northern China suffered from overpopulation, overgrazing and the impacts of climate change to become the Horqin Desert which is now the size of Switzerland. Located in Inner Mongolia, the Horqin Desert began to have far-reaching impact, as agriculture suffered and sandstorms affected not only northern China but also Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

Timberland Transforms Mongolian Desert to a Forest
On April 22, 140 Timberland employees, business partners, consumers and members of the media spent a memorable Earth Day planting and watering trees in China’s Horqin Desert. I was privileged to pull on my yellow boots alongside these heroes, to step outside, work together, and make it better in this extremely remote area of Inner Mongolia that has a significant environmental impact on the surrounding region.

Timberland Army Deploys at Dondero, Betty’s Dream
About 100 Timberland employees labored on the grounds of Dondero School Thursday, while dozens more painted and landscaped at Betty’s Dream, during the company’s bi-annual day of service. Most wearing “Timbs” work boots, employees for the Stratham-based shoe and clothing maker showed up early for the 27th year the company has paid its employees to volunteer in the community. Mike Gass works in footwear product development, lives in the Dondero neighborhood and his son Latham is a special needs student at the elementary school.

Timberland Workers Build Nature Play Areas In Portsmouth, Dover
The outdoor lifestyle company closed its global headquarters in Stratham for the day, as 300 of its employees took a paid day off to volunteer in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. On the Seacoast, they built various outdoor play spaces at Dondero School and Betty's Dream in Portsmouth, and at Seacoast Charter School in Dover.
