NEW YORK, JUNE 17, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America, today announced the launch of “Health Week 2016 – Mi Salud,” the fourth annual health and wellness campaign that is part of the award-winning Univision Contigo empowerment platform. The health-themed week kicks off today, Friday, June 17th, across all Univision platforms including television, radio, local, digital and community outreach events.
The cornerstone of the initiative is “Reto28,” a free digital tool that contains a 28-day nutritional diet plan and fitness challenge designed by nutritionist Sabrina Hernandez-Cano, fitness instructor, María Guerra and recipes from Chef Hamlet Garcia (both Maria and Chef Hamlet are spokespeople for Go Red Heart from the American Heart Association).
This year’s revamped version of the popular challenge will provide users additional options to customize their diet plan to include recipes for families and those with diabetes.
“Health Week 2016 is an opportunity to make a difference in the health and wellbeing of families by addressing prevalent health-related issues facing our community. Our goal is for our audience to have the information, resources and tools they need to take control of their health,” said Jessica Herrera-Flanigan, executive vice president of Government & Corporate Affairs. “Through free health screenings, Reto 28 and the week’s informative content, we emphasize that it is never too late to take charge of your own and your family’s health.”
Users can register at reto28.univision.com, and join a Reto 28 Facebook group to begin receiving weekly meal plans which are devised to reduce overall caloric intake, as well as recipes, fitness videos, and expert advice.
