On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the major hostilities of World War I formally ended. This historic date has been memorialized around the world. Whether recognized as Armistice Day, Remembrance Day or Veterans Day, Nov. 11 serves as a solemn reminder.
I feel very fortunate to have served on the Arbor Day Foundation’s board of trustees for nine years now. Stepping into my new role as board chair has given me the opportunity to reflect on the last decade and the great change I have witnessed at the Foundation through the years.

So, a strong CSR effort helps companies increase employee happiness and retain top talent. Clearly, HR managers already recognize the need and want for CSR, because in that same survey, 80 percent of workers in HR roles said that CSR is extremely or very important.
