2015 Little Kids Rock LA Jam Summit Presented by Jack in the Box® - Hundreds of students from more than 20 schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) that benefit from national nonprofit Little Kids Rock’s free music program and resources, will come together to showcase their musical skills and celebrate Jack in the Box’s support of the Little Kids Rock Modern Band Program.

The Little Kids Rock Modern Band music programs teach the popular musical styles of the past 50 years, from rock and reggae to Latin and R&B, among other genres. They complement existing programs such as jazz, marching band, and orchestral music. Students learn to perform, improvise and compose using the styles that they know and love. Modern Band students from across the district will play a series of concerts on the campus of KIPP LA Prep.

This generous funding from Jack in the Box will be utilized to deliver 800 new musical instruments, including guitars, drums, bass guitars and keyboards to students in 30 schools in the LAUSD during the next school year. This partnership will impact an estimated 13,000 public school students and contribute approximately 92,000 music instruction hours during which public school teachers will run Modern Band Programs.
