Aramark Building Community Day is a part of our year-round dedication of our skills, time and service excellence to improve the lives of families. Thousands of employees will work with local community centers and nonprofit partners on projects that will help improve family health and wellness and help people succeed in the workforce.

Volunteers Impact 500,000 on Global Aramark Building Community Day
Nearly 8,000 Aramark employees touched the lives of half a million individuals and families in 15 countries during Aramark Building Community Day (ABC Day) in September. Associates participated in more than 300 projects that inspired families to lead healthier lives and helped youth and adults gain job skills.

The unemployment rate in Chicago fell this year, but many youth and adults remain unemployed and in need of basic skills training, such as resume writing, interview techniques or life skills. These basic skills can help them find – and keep – good jobs.

Aramark and Congreso Improve Health and Wellness of Philadelphia Families
Throughout Philadelphia, adults and children face many challenges to eating nutritious foods and living healthy lives. Many of the preventable diseases plaguing this community, like diabetes, are associated with obesity. In the area served by Congreso, one of the city’s largest multi-service organizations for the Hispanic community, 37.1% of adults and 39.8% of children six and older were reported as overweight or obese in a 2012 survey by Public Health Management Corporation.
