We’ve been making some headlines lately for our push into community solar – an area NRG is moving into quickly. Why community solar?

“From a customer’s perspective, community solar is a home run: companies can stabilize energy costs while helping create a cleaner local power grid,” says Miro Sutton, NRG Business Solutions. “They can essentially offset a large portion of their electricity without any physical changes to their site. It’s clean, simple and financially prudent.”

Two weeks ago we announced that we’ve broken ground on our first five community solar projects in Minnesota. Since then, we’ve broken ground on a sixth project.

Greentech Media’s Jeff St. John posted an interesting article that takes a high-level look at our community solar program.

We’ve also been making some headlines in Massachusetts – another area where NRG is building community solar arrays. See this coverage from the Lowell SunPepperell solar array has lots of folks smiling
