International Women's Day — this Saturday, March 8 — is not only a worldwide acknowledgment of women and their accomplishments, but a day to imagine a world where diversity and inclusion is something all people can celebrate. This year's global theme, "Inspiring Change," is inspiring men and women at BNY Mellon to take action by participating in nearly 60 events around the world.

“At BNY Mellon, our company thrives because we support our people in advancing a diverse culture that embraces innovation and collaboration. It's that simple. This campaign celebrates diversity, our employee-powered WIN chapters, and the leaders across our company who are inspiring change in our industry and driving our company forward,” said Jyoti Chopra, BNY Mellon's global head of Diversity and Inclusion.

Throughout March, BNY Mellon and its women's network --- WIN --- will spotlight women's momentum in the workplace with events in many of the company's global locations and other initiatives — ranging from research to corporate signature events to a virtual mentoring series featuring the personal insights and wisdom of those who already have a seat in the corner office.

Here are just a few highlights.

Signature Events:
"The Road to the Corner Office"

On Thursday, March 6, BNY Mellon Chairman and CEO Gerald Hassell will host WIN's International Women's Day kickoff event, "The Road to the Corner Office." Regina Meredith-Carpeni, Chief Operating Officer for Global Markets and WIN Co-chair, will engage a panel of dynamic speakers as they share career insights and key skills for leadershp including listening, consultation, coaching and community building. Panelists include:

• Karen Peetz, President of BNY Mellon;
• Anna Maria Chávez, CEO, Girl Scouts of the USA;
• John Hagel III, Co-chairman, Deloitte LLP Center for the Edge; and

Pershing's Study Reveals Americans Crave a New Kind of Leader — And Women Are Ready to Deliver

Inspiring the change of guiding more women to senior leadership roles is a key theme across BNY Mellon's celebration of International Women's Day. For the third year in a row, Pershing, a BNY Mellon company, has published research on the women's market to coincide with these events. While the study, Americans Crave a New Kind of Leader — And Women Are Ready to Deliver, focuses on the U.S., it carries clear global implications as it presents a conflicting but promising outlook on the changing role of women as leaders in the workplace.

WIN chapter events:
Nearly 60 events in BNY Mellon locations around the world will engage employees, clients and more in International Women's Day celebrations throughout March.
