BRUSSELS, August 4, 2021 /3BL Media/ – Aligned with the company's Vision 2030 goal to strengthen the resilience of its communities, International Paper's Europe, Middle East and Africa Region team has provided disaster relief funding of €10,000 following the devastating floods that recently hit parts of Belgium, Germany and other neighboring countries.

The contribution has been donated to the United Fund for Belgium, a longstanding community support partner of International Paper, and the German Red Cross. The funds will be used to provide food, shelter, clothes and hygiene items to people who lost their homes, along with supporting repair and community clean-up works.

The death toll in Western Germany and Belgium rose to at least 180 with hundreds still missing after rivers burst their banks with flash flooding causing widespread devastation. The record rainfall in July is said to be the region's worst natural disaster in more than half a century.
