In conjunction with International Volunteer Day, more than 40 Carnival Cruise Lines employees helped to spruce up a park on Miami Beach as part of a day of community service organized by the Cruise Lines International Association, the trade association for the North American cruise industry.

Partnering with employees from other cruise lines, Carnival Cruise Lines’ volunteers spent several hours painting a steel beam fence that surrounds the North Shore Park on Miami Beach and clearing non-native plants from a beachside area.  The plants were collected and will be made into mulch and compost with the help of Waste Management, Inc.

Many of Carnival’s employees are members of the Fun Team, the line’s volunteer community service group that coordinates a variety of project in partnership with educational, social service and arts-related organizations throughout South Florida.
