Taproot Foundation Announces the Election of NBCUniversal’s Patricia Langer and Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Rebecca Wang to the Board of Directors

Two Fortune 500 company leaders join Taproot Foundation's Board of Directors, bringing additional human resources and corporate social responsibility expertise to the team.

NEW YORK, October 5, 2016 /3BL Media/ -- Taproot Foundation announces the election of Patricia Langer and Rebecca Wang to its Board of Directors.

Patricia Langer is the Executive Vice President, Human Resources NBCUniversal. She is responsible for Human Resources globally for the company, including compensation, benefits, HR operations, learning and development, talent acquisition, and pipeline programs.

Ms. Langer was honored by the Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association with the 2013 Leadership Excellence Award for her visionary leadership in building a world-class HR organization following the Comcast acquisition of NBCUniversal.

Previously, Ms. Langer served on the Lifetime Executive team as an HR and legal advisor to senior leaders. During this time, she established programs for diversity and inclusion and employee engagement, including the Lifetime Volunteer Corps, which enabled employees to partner with women’s shelters to serve their communities. 

Ms. Langer has been a pro bono HR consultant with the Taproot Foundation and is also actively involved with The Giving Circle of Lower Westchester, a group dedicated to supporting hunger relief in Westchester County.

Ms. Langer holds a bachelor’s degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. Ms. Langer resides in Mamaroneck, NY.

Rebecca Wang is Senior Manager, Community Engagement, 
Hewlett Packard Enterprise Corporate Affairs. Ms. Wang oversees Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s award-winning community engagement strategy, which includes everything from hands-on activities to pro bono volunteering for HPE’s 200,000 employees worldwide.

Ms. Wang has her professional roots in the nonprofit sector, spending ten years as a fundraiser and volunteer manager at a variety of organizations including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and YMCA.

Ms. Wang is a charter Board member of CreateAthon, a nonprofit organization that brings pro bono marketing professionals and students into skills-based service via a 24-hour marathon model.

Ms. Wang holds a Communications degree from UC Berkeley and a Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan. For the past 18 years, Rebecca and family have called Menlo Park, CA home.
