The Web's leading network for volunteer engagement will convene its annual gathering for managers and leaders of corporate volunteer programs. With guest speakers, reception, and announcement of 2010 awards for Champion of the Year and Corporate Volunteer
(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) February 18, 2010 - VolunteerMatch, the Web's most popular volunteering network and a leading resource for companies, schools, and brands engaging volunteers, will present its annual summit for clients on April 29, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bet on Volunteering, hosted by VolunteerMatch Solutions and sponsored by MGM MIRAGE, will bring together experts and practitioners from VolunteerMatch's community of clients to share their success, network with peers, and learn how leaders in volunteering and CSR are innovating in the field.
In addition to seminars, workshops, and a reception, the event will also include the presentation of VolunteerMatch's annual Champion of the Year and Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year awards. At last year's event, Exelon Corp. and Morgan Stanley were honored for their 2008 achievements.
About the 2010 Keynote: "Volunteers in the Value Chain," Dr. Jane Nelson, Harvard Kennedy School
This year's keynote, "Volunteers in the Value Chain," will be delivered by Jane Nelson, Professor, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Institute at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Among the questions Dr. Nelson will explore: How can employees, through service, extend the value chain? How can corporations link their core businesses to Corporate Social Responsibility through engagement, international program branding and metrics?
In addition to the keynote, Alison Rose, Research Specialist with the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, will moderate a panel on best practices in employee volunteer engagement, and Jamie Hartman, Executive Director of Taproot Foundation's Pro Bono Action Tank, will speak on skilled and pro bono volunteering.
