AEP Urges Customers to Use Portable Generators Safely

Millions of people were left without power after the June 29th storm. Power outages can cause inconveniences and many people choose to use portable generators while the power is out. AEP cautions customers to use generators safely.

If you use a portable or RV generator, do not plug the generator into your circuit box. Portable generators can "backfeed" electricity up the line and risk the lives of repair workers and the public.
