From Agreement to Action: Mobilizing Suppliers Toward a Climate-Resilient World
Supply chains represent a critical source of greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related risks to companies, government agencies, and others. A new report written by BSR on behalf of CDP analyzes information submitted to CDP by more than 4,000 suppliers of 75 CDP supply chain members, which represent more than US$2 trillion in procurement spend.
In the report, we outline the current state of supplier performance on climate-change management—in particular, the need for significant improvement in reporting, management, and emissions reductions in the wake of the Paris Agreement on climate change in December 2015. In addition, the report offers a path toward better management and decreasing emissions, highlighting opportunities to engage with suppliers, improve performance, and promote supply chain climate resilience.
