AIDA Supports SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. in the Philippines and the Dominican Republic in 2017
Cruise company has donated over 1 million euros to children’s charity since 2005
Continuing its longstanding commitment to SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. projects in 2017, AIDA Cruises has presented the children’s charity with a donation of 102,450 euros.
This year the proceeds from the New Year’s raffle that is traditionally held on board the AIDA fleet on December 31 will once again go to the SOS Children’s Village in Iloilo, Philippines and an SOS Children’s Village in Los Mina/Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
Since 2005 AIDA Cruises has donated over one million euros to various projects run by SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. in Germany, Africa, Asia and now also in the Caribbean.
“We are delighted by our guests’ great willingness to join forces with AIDA year in year out and take over social responsibility. Our support is giving needy children a new home and smoothing their path to a better future,” said Steffi Heinicke, Vice President Guest Service when the donation was handed over in Hamburg aboard AIDAprima.
“We are very grateful to have reliable partners such as AIDA at our side. With the company’s financial support we can realize many projects throughout the world and thus provide effective help,” said Manfred Thurau who accepted the check on behalf of SOS-Kinderdorf e.V.
Supporting charitable projects is an important element of AIDA’s corporate culture and a matter very close to its heart. The cruise company has partnered for many years with numerous social, cultural and sporting organizations. For more information about AIDA Cruises’ charitable work go to: www.aida.de/aidacares.
