ALERT: OSHA’s HCS Requirements
ALERT: OSHA’s HCS REQUIREMENTS
The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires chemical manufacturers, distributors, or importers to provide Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) (formerly known as Material Safety Data Sheets or MSDSs) to communicate the hazards of hazardous chemical products. As of June 1, 2015, the HCS will require new SDSs to be in a uniform format, and include the section numbers, the headings, and associated information “ - OSHA’s Quick Card
As an “employer” you must act BEFORE June 1st, 2015. If the manufacturer and/or distributor has made the SDS label available, for a chemical on the premises of your company’s facility and you have not made it available to your employees, you must act now in order to be compliant with OSHA regulations.
