Alliance Data Celebrates International Volunteer Day with Commitment to Service

Alliance Data recognizes the United Nations’ International Volunteer Day by celebrating our associates’ volunteer efforts throughout the year and encouraging a continued focus on sustainability and service. 

At Alliance Data, giving back to the communities where we live and work is more than the right thing to do. As a common thread that connects and inspires us, it is ingrained in the very culture of our business and how we operate. That’s why our associates regularly volunteer at nonprofit organizations making a positive impact in their local communities. From sorting items at food banks or building a home with Habitat for Humanity, to supporting local children’s hospitals, our associates are constantly engaged in what their communities need. 

Because so many of our associates are already making a difference through their volunteer efforts, Alliance Data has implemented a Dollars for Doers program to further their impact. For every hour our associates volunteer outside of work, Alliance Data then gives a financial contribution to the associate’s nonprofit of choice. In 2018 alone, our associates contributed a total of 40,000 hours of service to organizations that they’re passionate about, resulting in a total of $240,000 Dollars for Doers donations to nonprofits.

The mission of International Volunteer Day is to encourage a continued commitment to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at local, national and international levels.  Last year, Alliance Data selected three SDGs to focus on that link to our sustainability strategy where we believe we can make the greatest impact: Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Decent Work and Economic Growth. These goals directly align with the theme of this year’s International Volunteer Day, “Volunteer for an inclusive future.” Today and throughout the year, we are proud of the positive impacts of our efforts, and passionate about continuing to strive towards an inclusive future.
