Aramark Named a Top Employer for Diversity
Company Recognized by BLACK ENTERPRISE and CAREERS & the disABLED Magazines
PHILADELPHIA, January 14, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), the $15 billion global provider of award winning services in food, facilities management, and uniforms, was recently recognized for its commitment to diversity and inclusion by two leading business publications. BLACK ENTERPRISE named Aramark one of its Top 40 best companies for diversity and CAREERS & the disABLED ranked Aramark among its Top 50 employers for providing a positive working environment for people with disabilities.
"We are honored to be recognized by BLACK ENTERPRISE and CAREERS & the disABLED for our commitment to diversity and inclusion," said Lynn B. McKee, Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Aramark. "As a proud employer of 270,000 associates around the world, we believe that a mosaic of backgrounds, styles, perspectives, values and beliefs are what enable us to enrich and nourish the lives of the millions of clients and consumers we serve every day."
"This recognition is extra special because we are sharing it with so many of our client partner companies," McKee added. "Aramark is honored to serve 35 of the 40 best companies for diversity and 42 of the top 50 employers for people with disabilities."
BLACK ENTERPRISE is the premier business, investing, and wealth-building resource for African Americans. The magazine surveys the top 1,000 publicly traded companies, as well as the 100 leading global companies with strong U.S. operations. The qualitative survey focuses on activities related to the participation of African Americans and members of other ethnic minority groups in four categories: employee base, senior management, board of directors and supplier diversity. This is the 5th time that Aramark has been named to the Top 40 list.
CAREERS & the disABLED is the only national career recruitment publication for people with disabilities in the United States. The magazine surveys readers who select the top companies in the country for which they would most prefer to work or believe provide a positive working environment for people with disabilities. This is the first time Aramark was named to their Top 50 list.
Aramark's diversity and inclusion efforts have been well recognized in recent months. In November, the company received a perfect score of 100% on the 2015 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC).
