Dear Members and Friends,
Planting trees is core to the Arbor Day Foundation’s mission. It’s what we’ve always done. We’re in our fifth decade of planting and caring for trees and forests across the U.S. and around the globe. We plant them with great purpose. Because the beneficiaries of those trees and forests are people. In realizing our vision of being a trusted leader in creating worldwide recognition and use of trees as a solution to global issues, it has become clear that our stewardship programs have a great influence on people. Trees change people’s lives. It is both humbling and inspiring to know that we play a role in that change. This year, even more so than others, I’m excited to share our 12 months of accomplishments. It has been a year of firsts, a year of growth, and a year of tree planting at a scale we have not reached before. All to help solve the global challenges facing humankind. In this report, you will find an update on our newly launched Time for Trees® initiative — a tree planting movement dedicated to restoring forests, building communities, and inspiring tree planters. You will read stories of hope and new beginnings that start with trees. You will see new programs designed specifically to engage more people in planting, nurturing, and celebrating trees. And you will gain a better understanding of why this work is so important. Thanks to dedicated members and partners, we simply have never been in a stronger or better position to make an impact on the future of humankind.
