Arby’s and its Guests Aim to Raise More Than $3.2 Million to End Childhood Hunger in America
The Fourth Annual In-Store Fundraiser Kicks Off August 18 to Raise Money for the Arby’s Foundation and the Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry® Campaign
ATLANTA, August 18, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Arby’s® restaurants across the country are teaming up with their guests to help put an end to childhood hunger in America. From August 18 until September 28, Arby’s will collect donations for the Arby’s Foundation in support of its mission to end childhood hunger in partnership with the Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry Campaign. Now in its fourth year, the in-store fundraiser has received unprecedented support from franchisees, with commitments from over 25 new franchisees and over 250 new units participating. The goal of this year’s fundraiser is to raise more than $3.2 million nationally, surpassing last year’s record amount of $3 million.
Guests who donate $1 or more at participating restaurants will receive a pin-up card to sign and hang on the walls of the restaurant to show their support. As a thank you for their donations, guests will receive a coupon for $2 off their next purchase of any full-priced sandwich or regular size meal.
“Childhood hunger is a serious but solvable problem that affects every community in this country,” said Paul Brown, CEO, Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. “With one in five children struggling with hunger, Arby’s carries a vision to ensure all children in America have access to wholesome food so they can fully achieve their best. As we strive to remove obstacles and empower youth, we want to encourage and inspire our guests to do the same.”
“Arby’s extraordinary commitment to No Kid Hungry means millions of kids in America are able to get the food they need to thrive,” said Billy Shore, founder and CEO of Share Our Strength. “By dining at Arby’s and making a donation, you can join us and help make No Kid Hungry a reality.”
Since 2011, the fundraiser has generated over $7.7 million, helping to further the impact Arby’s has made in ending childhood hunger. Nationally, in partnership with No Kid Hungry, these funds have helped connect kids struggling with hunger with more than 107 million additional meals. At the local level, 200 grants have been given to 195 organizations fighting childhood hunger in 41 states.
Arby’s is the largest restaurant chain to partner in a nationwide effort with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. This promotion is part of an overall joint effort to raise awareness around the issue of childhood hunger in the U.S. and to ensure that every child gets the food needed to learn, play and grow.
