Tracy's Kids Red Carpet Fundraiser. February 10, 2016 marked the eleventh annual Tracy's Kids Red Carpet fundraiser at Gallery Place in Washington, DC. Tracy's Kids is a nonprofit organization that has grown out of work begun by Tracy Councill at Georgetown University Hospital's Lombardi Cancer Center in 1991. The work of Tracy's Kids makes a difference for thousands of young people and their families each year, and its DC Red Carpet event raises awareness of the profession of art therapy among politicians and the public. As a member of the National Coalition of Creative Arts Therapies Associations (NCCATA), the AATA is encouraging people to celebrate the role of the Creative Arts Therapies in the community and workplace. Robert Lackie, MS, MA, ATR, LPC, MFT discusses his art therapy work at the Shawnee Mission Schools in Shawnee, KS and reveals how art became an empowering force in his own life and in the lives of others. He graduated in 1998 with his Master of Science degree in Art Therapy from Emporia State University.
