ASPCA® Celebrates 15 Years as National Charity Partner for the Subaru Share the Love® Event
NEW YORK – For the fifteenth year in a row, the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) has been selected as a national charity partner as part of the 2022 Subaru Share the Love® Event with the goal of helping thousands of animals in need across the country. From November 17, 2022, through January 3, 2023, Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle, purchased or leased, to the customer’s choice of four participating national charities, including the ASPCA.
Since 2008, Subaru has donated more than $33 million to the ASPCA through this partnership, including the Subaru Share the Love Event, which has helped support the rescue, transport, and adoption of nearly 104,000 animals nationwide.
“As we enter the 15th year of our partnership with Subaru, we are inspired and excited by what we have accomplished together: providing safety and care for more than 100,000 animals in need and raising critical public awareness about the plight of homeless pets," said Matt Bershadker, ASPCA president and CEO. “We look forward to continuing this collaborative work of supporting animal shelters and rescues and spreading compassion and understanding in communities across America, helping a wide range of vulnerable animals find the loving homes they need and deserve. We are grateful to Subaru for being such a compassionate and committed partner in this program that profoundly benefits both animals and the people who love them.”
Through its participation in the Subaru Share the Love Event, the ASPCA also provides grant funding to local animal welfare organizations across the country, partnered with a local Subaru retailer, to help find loving homes and provide critical services for animals in need, including microchips, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries.
The generous donation received from the 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event enabled the ASPCA to provide over $731,000 in grant funding throughout 2022 to 185 animal welfare organizations across 45 states and Washington, D.C. This funding has helped support community pet events in partnership with local Subaru retailers. In 2021, this collaborative grant program impacted more than 8,500 animals nationwide, and the ASPCA and Subaru are committed to helping as many animals as possible again this year.
